Chester grew up one of six children on a mixed farm north of Adelaide — a childhood that shaped a down-to-earth character and a genuine care for people. He went on to represent South Australia in rowing at a national level, winning the Kings Cup Australian Eight-Oared Championship back-to-back in 1981 and 1982. He retired from competition in 1994 alongside his brother, with numerous state titles to his name.
Those years taught Chester that the best results come from discipline, trust in a clear strategy, and the willingness to show up consistently — values that translate directly into the advice he gives today.
That same character extends beyond the office. When Chester became aware of the mistreatment of elderly residents at a local aged care facility, he didn't look the other way. He stepped in, spoke up, and stood firmly for those who needed a voice. It's that willingness to do what's right — even when it's uncomfortable — that defines who Chester is, both as a person and as an adviser.
